Sustainability at Meadow Springs is embedded in every single classroom every single day. We practice the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) through our everyday practices:
- worm buckets for our worm farms
- alive paper trays for our reusing
- recycling bins for our paper
We love to plant vegetables and fruit in our gardens and enjoy eating or selling the produce at our assembly shop. We have a recycling depot for most recyclable items and love making paper bricks for the winter fires and recycled paper sheets to reuse for cards or artwork.
Classes perform plays and present workshops at the Regional Kids Teaching Kids Conference and some are lucky enough to win scholarships to Melbourne to attend the national conference.
MSPS is both Wastewise and Waterwise and participate in Keep Australia Clean Days by ensuring that litter is picked up regularly. Everyone is excited to join with Bunnings to help plant our Bush Tucker garden where plants will be harvested throughout the Noongar seasons.
